Happy 177th Anniversary Photography

Well it has been fully one month since I posted anything on my photography blog.  Why? Well the weather here has been pretty poor with precious little in the way of decent light for taking interesting photos.  In addition, as is always the way during the summer months, things have been pretty hectic, both at work and on the personal front.  I have a few images from the past week or so that I need to find time to sort through and I will post some soon. 

Meanwhile, today is the 177th anniversary of the first camera being invented so I thought in celebration of that fact I would go back in time to 2009 when I took one of my favourite images.  This was taken near the junction on the road to the Summer Isles where you can turn off to Lochinver.  The light was really interesting with the foreground illuminated by some sunshine which appeared brighter because of the looming clouds over Stac Pollaidh.  This is so often the case in that part of the country where the coastal fringe is nice and sunny and bright while just a short distance inland where the land rises there is lots of cloud.  It does make for some good photos though.  This one also looks quite nice in colour but I'll stick with the B&W for now.
