One month in and I thought I would look through my photos posted this January and select my three favourites. I found this quite difficult with the The Cuillins from Elgol Beach (6th January), Three Pines (10th January), views of the Bealach na Ba (11th January) and the Snowy Scots Pine on the 16th January all being up there. Anyway here they are: I just liked the light on this shot and the colour in the clouds. A relatively simple shot but I really like the colour with the bright red/orange of the ring and the blue of the sea. This could almost be a painting the way the ripples look on the water. This was my favourite because it is nice and sharp and well exposed. The clouds and sky are vivid and active, lit up by the early morning sun and the old jetty on the right foreground and rocks on the left lead the viewer into the picture really well. I managed to get good depth of field as well with both the foreground and distance looking sharp and focused and the light from the clouds is almost luminous.
If you disagree with my choices then feel free to let me now which were your favourites and why. Meanwhile, February starts tomorrow and by all accounts it is going to be wild.
